Eight Mother’s Day Gift Ideas

When I was a little girl, we always, without fail, bought my Mom potted flowers for Mother’s Day. She liked red geraniums. Once I was a teenager, as an act of service, I took over the front flower beds of my parents’ home, managed them, and did all the weeding and planting. Eventually as an act of service for my father, I also added lawn maintenance to my list of summer chores.

Sometimes buying gifts for Mom, like a Mom, Mom to be, friends, etc, is difficult. Sometimes Mom just wants attention and everyone home. Some Moms like cards, especially handmade ones. Some love lunch out or a hike in the woods as a family.

Below are eight gift ideas for Mom!

1.) In the LoveLeavingLegacy blog shop, there are many styles of scarves and wraps.

Flexi clip adornment

All look lovely with a Lilla Rose flexi clip adornment, and there are so many flexi clips to choose from! The just out today Floressa is an example!

It just so happens that today through 11:59 pm PST May 3rd, Lilla Rose is having a 10% off sale of May’s new releases with free shipping for $60+ orders, and a monthly customer special of a free pair of upins for retail orders over $75. The new Flexi of the Month, Floressa, and the coordinating bobby pins are stunning, and they are the flowers that require no upkeep by mom!

2.) Lilla Rose products do give the gift of beautiful hair with minimum fuss! You’d be a hair hero if you gifted her some!

Some clips in this video are no longer available but the photos are representative of hair beautified with Lilla Rose.

3.) Lilla Rose clips also work on hats, bags, and beach wraps. You could add a book by a favorite author for her relaxing trip to the beach! Or a gift card to the book store so she can shop for that book herself would be a nice afternoon out too.

Newly released Shelly, also 10% off today through May 3rd.

Sea Turtle, 10% off through May 3rd.

Purchase a straw hat, a thin summery scarf, and a leather 8 with a stick to coordinate the look!

4.) If your Mom is work outside the home mom who requires a name badge, is a quilter who likes her scissors close at hand, or doesn’t like to carry a purse, but needs something to clip her wristlet or keys too, perhaps she would love a pretty lanyard!

For Moms who deserve to be treated like a princess, who are wise, who offer direction, or who just love flowers.

5.) If the lady you are buying for likes manicures, pedicures, to color her hair, or massages, buy gift cards to her favorite salons or pampering products for her do it at home options. You could also support a local business who makes goat’s milk soaps and lotion pampering products.

6.) A gift card to her favorite clothing store is a lovely gesture for a Mom’s afternoon out alone.

7.) If she likes flowers, or chocolate, or handmade cards or acts of service, show her you love her and meet those desires and needs.

8.) Call the special lady you call Mom, or like a Mom on the telephone or write her a snail mail letter. Tell her you love her, appreciate her, and thank her for making you the person you are today.

Celebrate your Mom.

Life changes quickly, and we are never promised tomorrow.

Perhaps you are a lady who has entered a new season, for whatever reason. Perhaps you desire a change the way you are using your time, need help with finances, or want to mentor young ladies in small business. Maybe you are a blogger. Maybe you would like to consider a Lilla Rose business of your own, and gift yourself a business start up to promote online and in person.

I can help. I can point you in the direction of lovely group on women who support each other, train each other, and celebrate accomplishments.

I’d love to help you get set to bloom in this new season!

I know that Mother’s Day is often a subject and a day filled with pain for many. Not every one has a mom to celebrate.  Not all mothers value their children the way they deserve to be valued. Many have lost children, or have not been able to have a child. I’m not going to pretend that I understand the pain of rejection, abuse, or the extent of losses such as those. But, if you are broken, hurt, have lost your Mom, feel like you have missed an opportunity with your own children, I pray that you find a peace that passes understanding. I pray for a peace that leads to healing, grace, and forgiveness. Do your part to live a life without regret and to be in unity with others, even though this seems impossible.  Surround yourself with those who hold you up in sorrow and pain, and who will love you through it.

You are worthy.

You are deserving of support and love.

You are a son/daughter of a most High King.

The righteous cry out, and the Lord hears them;he delivers them from all their troubles. The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit. Psalm 34:17-18

Blessings,

Deb

PS. I need to go find red geraniums to ship to my Mom.

Mother’s Day is May 14, 2017. Don’t forget!

Toward Vision And Goals With Spring In My Step

There is Spring In My Step! A friend saw crocuses as the snow melted in her yard. The sun has been shining in Michigan the last few days. At the mall where I’ve been walking, pastel colored items, Easter dresses, and flip flops are on display. I’m stepping, and practically skipping with springiness, toward my Vision and Goals for areas of my life and starting new seasons.

Crocus

A training  I took recently was talking about a vision board, a vision word, breaking down goals into tiny bite size steps, and breaking down goals for five areas of life-Faith, Family, Business, Recreation, and Self-Care/Health. She recommended making a collage with pictures and words cut out of magazines.

I’ve heard the Vision Board/Word idea in the past, and honestly it sounded like busy work and clutter to me. I don’t want a vision board collage of magazine pictures and words hanging on my wall. Ick. I equate that with the dreaded and useless paper plate crafts done to whittle away time in preschool Sunday school classes.

But, I was hearing enough of theses ideas from enough different business experts, that I decided there might some merit to the idea, and that maybe I needed to implement those ideas in a way that is more suitable to my style.

Words like Build It, Solid Foundation, Team, Boldness, and Goals were some of the words circulating in my head.

A friend sent me the book Build It Bigger, and my son, Mechanical M, gave me a Build On! mug, which also has some fun knock off building bricks. (Side note: Not all versions of the mug contain a teeny building set, however. And this is an affiliate link.)

build on

Brick by brick, I’ve been building.

I’ve been wanting to share the Vision Board I discussed in early January. I was waiting for my graphic designer and fitness partner, my 17 year old son, who works nearly for free, to help me finish it. He is a high school student involved in studying and completing his own list of priorities. This project was not top on his list.

Mum's Vision Board

In January, I did accomplish several of my goals. In the area of Recreation (and mental health) I was able to finish three crochet projects which I demonstrated on FB Live.

Doing FB Live is a Business goal met too! I read a couple of business building and leadership books, attended trainings, and I did my first blog Giveaway! I have a VIP customer group for my family, friends, and registered customers, and a new group for sharing the Lilla Rose business opportunity. If you are a registered customer, I invite you to request to join!

Bricks (Ideas) scattered around.

In the area of Self Care/Health, my goal is to lose three pounds/month until July. The plan was to walk 3 miles, 3-5 times/week. One month ago, I started keeping a food journal and I began keeping track of measurements. In one month,  I’m actually walking 4-5 miles 4-5 times/week. I’ve lost all that I regained during the holidays, plus 3 more pounds, and I’ve lost 1-1.5 inches in different areas. This week I began strength training, too. My goal for February is to walk those 4-5 miles 5 days/week more consistently and in less time, with 2-3 sessions of added strength training each week. I won’t lie. This is taking more time than I would like or can spare, and it’s hard! I have blisters. But, I’m sleeping better, have more energy, and drinking less coffee, so staying positive.

And, YAY! For added bonus, I had my monthly massage and bi annual hair trim!

And starting to take shape.

Little by little, brick by brick, I’m Building It with a Limp in My Step From the Blisters on my Feet  Spring In My Step, and stepping toward goals in business, health, recreation, our family is growing in many ways, and these areas are challenging me as I’m building my Christian faith.

Build it 3

Brick by brick, idea by idea, creating Vision and stepping toward Goals, building it.

In their hearts humans plan their course, but the Lord establishes their steps. Proverbs 16:9

How are your 2017 goals shaping up?

Are you accomplishing Putting Spring Into Your Step Toward Your Vision?

Kicking Off

Today is the first day of the Reece’s Rainbow Miracle of Adoption Christmas Campaign, formally called the Angel Tree. Meet and hear founder of Reece’s Rainbow, Andrea Roberts, here. One hundred international children with Down syndrome and other special needs who are waiting for forever families have Miracle Worker Warriors. Miracle Worker Warriors help to raise $1000 adoption grants for their chosen MACC child by December 31, 2016. We also hope to find families for the children, which is the ultimate goal.

The LoveLeavingLegacy crew chose Hannahlee for whom to advocate and fundraise for the Miracle of Adoption Christmas Campaign (MACC) . She is newly listed on Reece’s Rainbow, therefore, she has no grant at all. Today I will add $5 to her grant to kick it off, because it breaks my heart that a five year old child left in an orphanage at a month old has no Mom and Dad, no grandparents, aunts, uncles, or siblings, no clothes or toys to call her own, no hugs, etc, also has NO GRANT. If anyone would like to join me in adding just $5 to Kick Those Zeros to the Curb, thankfulness and gratitude would be the first describing words for how I’d feel.

Also to Kick Off ridding that grant of zeros is a Lilla Rose fundraising Facebook party. I will donate profits from orders from this party link to her grant after taxes and business expenses are taken into account after I receive my commission check during the first week of December. For today only, from 7 AM PST until 11:59 PM PST, there is a Lilla Rose free shipping offer on retail online orders of $50+. There is also a November customer special of free Holiday set bobby pins and purple pouch for orders of $100+ that expires on November 30th while supplies last. Please see the end of the post for details on these offers.

In addition, we are selling these super cool awesome Batman and Superman socks! They are $15/pair shipped, $10/pair will go to the grant.  Message me on my Facebook business page with your email address, home address, and which item and how many you would like, and I will send you a pay pal invoice to pay. There are only about 10 pairs of each style available.

Finally, as always, we have several craft albums on our Facebook business page designated for Reece’s Rainbow fundraising. We also have some of the larger items in this Blog’s shop. For all of those donated handmade items, 100% of the sale goes to Hannahlee, minus shipping costs, unless otherwise stated.

Thank you for supporting us! There will be more fundraisers to come!

Blessings and with gratitude,

Deb
